North American Substance Abuse Program

The Industry Business Roundtable's (IBR) NABSC / NASAP Steering Committee met to evaluate the suspension / waiver status of the NASAP random and 2-year forced drug screen requirements.
The committee has decided to lift the suspension / waiver and re-activate the program for all random and forced two-year drug testing effective October 1, 2020.
Please see the attached Appendix VI of the NASAP Program document, which addresses some exemptions to the program and provides some guidance for the reactivation of the program.
This suspension/waiver was to reduce the risk of potential COVID-19 exposure to personnel. Although the suspension/waiver has been lifted, it is the expectation that all stakeholders continue to take the necessary precautions and follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC, local and federal governments and/or your own company requirements.

IBR NABSC / NASAP Steering Committee
The North American Substance Abuse Program (NASAP) is a standard contractor employee testing program that will promote a safe and substance abuse-free work force while minimizing administrative expense by establishing a centralized reporting point where results of substance abuse testing can be readily accessed by authorized Owner and Contractor representatives. The NASAP includes a process for rehabilitation and keeps individuals that test positive from moving between contractor companies without successfully completing an approved rehabilitation program.
